Roland Passot's restaurants contribute to San Francisco's reputation as Paris of the West. His Michelin starred La Folie in the city and bistro-style Left Bank in Marin and the Peninsula are standouts of French dining. Coming to San Francisco from his native France, Roland was awarded the coveted James Beard Foundation Rising Star Chef award in 1990. As a result of Roland's culinary prowess and his contributions to French cuisine, he was inducted as a Maître Cuisiner of France in 1991. Roland is well respected in the industry for his passion and culinary expertise. He is a regular participant in the San Francisco Chronicle's weekly food evaluations, appears occasionally on local television cooking shows, and recently starred in a national PBS promo spot.
