CCD Innovation is looking to add an energetic, relationship-focused Business Development Director to our team.

Job Overview

The Business Development Director is a B2B client-facing role that acts as a conductor for the entire sales lifecycle. The ideal candidate has experience and an existing network in the Food and Beverage CPG industry, is highly skilled in a consultative sales process that turns leads into clients, and enjoys internal collaborations that leverage each team members’ strengths.

This position is for you if you consider yourself a foodie, can successfully build and cultivate relationships with contacts even when you’re not actively selling, and enjoy a sales process that focuses on the client and helps match their needs to the customizable services offered.

Job Details

  • Acts as the main point of contact and guides prospective clients throughout sales relationship

  • Receives and responds promptly to inquiries from prospective clients

  • Initiates new client relationships via networking, personally crafted emails, and phone outreach

  • Continues building ongoing relationships with regular contacts after project completion

  • Uses consultative selling skills to understand prospects’ needs

  • Helps clients see the value of CCD Innovation’s service offerings by providing creative solutions to fit their needs

  • Writes detailed proposals, estimates, and statements of work accurately capturing processes, deliverables, and timelines and customizing service offerings as needed

  • Creates detailed phase-based budgets for client projects reflecting resource and time allocations, costs, and expenses

  • Collaborates with internal team members to conduct prospective client calls and deliver capabilities presentations

  • Communicates project details to internal team members for hand-off at project commencement

  • Collaborates with the Marketing team to develop strategies and content to support sales efforts

  • Conducts necessary sales activities and internal collaboration to achieve annual sales targets

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 5+ years of sales experience in a corporate or agency setting

  • Food and Beverage CPG experience in either marketing, strategy, food science, or product development

  • Established network in the Food and Beverage CPG industry

  • A passion for food and restaurants

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Full-time position

  • Ability to work out of the Emeryville, CA office (preferred) with remote flexibility

  • Travel - up to 10%

All work will be performed remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. Post COVID-19, time will be split between onsite team-facing time (preferred) and remote work.
