Bare Snacks chose CCD Innovation to expand their line-up of simply delicious crunchy fruit snacks and explore the world of bold and trend-forward ingredients to expand the brand’s equity into a new snacking category.
Approach
CCD Innovation conducted a Competitive Landscape Analysis to understand the world of crunchy fruit snacks and identify the opportunity areas and consumer need states that Bare Snacks can own. After this insightful discovery phase, CCDI curated a Flavor Roundtable to leverage its internal culinary, food science, strategic and trend expertise to generate new flavor territories for exploration.
After promising, new flavor territories were established, CCDI developed a broad range of benchtop prototypes using Bare Snacks preferred supplier for seamless scale-up translation. Finally, these prototypes were funneled to a prioritized set of flavor profiles that best fit with Bare Snacks’ organic retail buyers, consumer target and new brand positioning as a BFY fruit snack.
Results
Bare Snacks successfully launched eight SKUs. CCDI was thrilled to develop nearly two dozen product prototypes for Bare Snacks’ Innovation Pipeline.
